Let’s Talk About Love

On any other day of the year, I would have something very different to say about the topic of “looooove,” and it would probably be jaded and sarcastic because that’s my general attitude towards romance*.

But today is special!

Forty-three years ago today, on March 7th, two people whom I looooove very much said “I do” to each other, and I want to take a moment to recognize them.**

**Particularly since I didn’t send them a card.

Let’s take a look a look back:

Their first anniversary
Their first anniversary

And they are still going strong, despite my dad’s continued joke of “Oh…it only feels like 42 years ago we met.”***

***Instead of “It feels like just yesterday we met.” It’s a bad joke and grounds for divorce, but my mom has let it go.

Congratulations, Mom and Dad, for another year together, and for being great examples of the kind of love that bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

You make me proud to be your daughter 🙂

Here they are again, then and now:

"Now" is actually ten years ago, but I thought the picture created a nice parallel.

Happy Anniversary!

Love,

Your Greatest Accomplishment
